For a considerable time, the Pentagon has faced criticism for expensive weapon acquisition programs characterized by expanding requirements, resulting in significant delays and exceeding budgets. However, the situation has taken a different turn, as the Pentagon is now grappling with the challenge of mitigating the proliferation of low-cost weapons and systems.
This comes at a time when the world is learning as much as possible from the Ukrainian struggle which is utilising large numbers of low cost drones to keep Russian forces at bay. UAS and Counter-UAS systems will continue to develop at great speed in conjunction with other emerging disruptive technologies like Quantum, Cyber and AI.
