The US Department of Defense (DoD) has been actively involved in quantum science initiatives, concentrating on the study of fundamental units of matter and energy. In response to China's progress in defence technologies, the Pentagon plans to intensify its efforts in fiscal year 2024. Recognising the strategic significance, the DoD is prioritizing quantum science to keep pace with China's advancements in defence. These endeavors hold promise for advanced sensing capabilities, faster, more efficient, and secure data collection, as well as innovative methods for storing, manipulating, and communicating information.
