South Korea set to increase defence spending to $262.8 billion over 5 years

The South Korean Defence Ministry has released its defence plan for the period 2024-2028. The plan includes an increased budget to help boost capabilities in the face of increased threats from North Korea, which recently launched a new space reconnaissance satellite.
New funds will help make the South Korean military more combat-ready and implement some key modernisation programmes.
