Acquisition of Anti-Ship Capabilities for the Navy
The Council of Ministers has authorized the conclusion of the framework agreement for the acquisition of Naval Strike Missile anti-ship missiles for the Navy.
The acquisition of this type of anti-ship missile is necessary to ensure the operability of the Navy's frigates, as well as to replace the current model, whose life cycle is nearing the end. Furthermore, it is consistent with future European projects in which Spain participates.
The estimated value of the framework agreement is €180 million.
Acquisition of Capabilities of the 'Patriot' System
The Council of Ministers has authorized the conclusion of the framework agreement for the acquisition of missiles and components of the 'Patriot' system.
The acquisition of this type of new generation missiles is necessary to ensure the maintenance of the system, replacing outdated components, in order to guarantee the security of the national airspace, as well as to fulfill the commitments assumed by Spain within the NATO.
The estimated value of the framework agreement is €400 million.
