Major defense companies from the UK, Japan, and Italy, including BAE Systems, Mitsubishi Heavy Industries, and Leonardo SpA, have taken significant steps towards shaping the future of aerial warfare. They have entered into a trilateral Collaboration Agreement to enhance cooperation and streamline efforts in meeting the concept phase requirements for the next-generation combat aircraft under the Global Combat Air Programme (GCAP). This agreement is expected to facilitate ongoing discussions, establish long-term working arrangements, and refine the concept and capability specifications for the upcoming combat aircraft.
