Avon Magnetics - Our History
Avon Magnetics is a privately owned business that can trace its history back to the 1960’s.
Our purpose built 620 square metre facility is located in Christchurch, Dorset and with a workforce of 50 people offers an advanced design and flexible manufacturing capability.
Our lineage originates with FH windings who then acquired Tridem Transformers in the early 1970’s. Trading as F & H Tridem the business continued until the formation of Avon Magnetics in 1992.
We gained ISO accreditation soon afterwards and relocated to our current facility. Now approved to AS9100 revision D, our experienced team of skilled operators and knowledgable engineers provide solutions too many critical applications. We pride ourselves in being one of the UK’s leading designers of special purpose wound components, including transformers, inductors, coils and can also support demand for products from the former Gardners Transformers Limited, having acquired all their design data.
Avon Magnetics has recently joined the Swedish KAMIC Group of companies and will continue to serve the aerospace, defence and medical sectors with specially designed wound components for unique and safety critical applications.
