Security Kiosk Programme
Technocover completed fast-track installation of four pre-built UltraSecure LPCB approved kiosks, fully fitted with M&E services, saving five days programme time.
Equipment included a 1.75 m by 1.75 m by 2.1 m services cabinet, two personnel kiosks measuring 4.5 m by 2.5 m by 2.5 m high, and one at 5.2 m by 5.2 m by 2.5 m high. Technocover undertook production, delivery and installation of all four kiosks, drawing on its specialised delivery fleet, large-scale fabrication capabilities and fully accredited site installation team to provide an integrated ‘Total Service’ solution to the client and contractor.
Planning of the pre-build had to account for delivery to three separate sites with difficult logistics. Site access was complicated by narrow country lanes and vehicle turning constraints, as well as the need for sensitive movement of equipment across privately owned land.
Over 95% of the kiosk build was completed under ISO 9001 quality management at Technocover’s Mid Wales factory, including service fit-out, fixtures and paint finish. Together with careful planning of equipment delivery, lifting and installation, Technocover’s site team installed all four kiosks in three days, saving some five days of site work and the associated labour costs.
With a 27 sqm+ footprint and weighing 4.6 tonnes, the largest kiosk was engineered and constructed in two halves to slot together, bolt down and accept site services with minimum fuss. Specification included lighting, power points, control panel, heating and ventilation, louvre vents, secure access for temporary cable feeds and aerial mounting brackets on the exterior. It also incorporated a double door and single emergency door with LPCB approved doorsets and locking, plus internal insulation and plywood finish.
Installation of the remaining pair of walk-in kiosks included removal and replacement of existing GRP units within a 60-minute maximum exposure time for electrical controls inside.
