DLC Coatings

Artemis Optical Ltd

DLC (Diamond-Like Carbon) coatings are thin, hard coatings made from a hybrid mixture of amorphous carbon and various other elements such as hydrogen, nitrogen, and silicon. They are known for their excellent hardness, low friction, and high chemical and thermal stability, which make them ideal for a wide range of industrial and technological applications.

Some common uses of DLC coatings include:

  • Improving the wear resistance of machine parts and tools

  • Enhancing the hardness and durability of medical and dental implants

  • Increasing the lifespan of optical and electronic devices

  • Reducing friction in moving parts, improving energy efficiency

DLC coatings can be applied to various surfaces using techniques such as physical vapor deposition, chemical vapor deposition, and ion-beam assisted deposition.

Artemis offers a range of anti-reflective coatings in the Infra-Red to suit a variety of applications.  In addition to the standard range, Artemis can custom design and manufacture anti-reflection coatings to suit specific requirements.

Coatings can be deposited on Silicon, Germanium, Multispectral ZnS, Zinc Selenide and Chalcogenides.
