The Packages are to be used in a hazardous environment to allow commencement of Waste Retrievals and transport the radioactive waste to upstream facilities to enable safe storage.
The Waste will be retrieved into a Waste Skip which will be lifted inside the Package and sealed by the bottom doors to enable transportation to upstream plants for storage. The Package is Lead Lined to provide the necessary shielding required for safe movement in areas that are populated. TSP Engineering have already refurbished 9 Packages to the standard required and built a Validation Package from scratch to demonstrate to Sellafield Ltd that we have the capability to manufacture multiple units. This is lead to the placement of an order for 13 packages. Scope of supply has been procurement of materials, fabrication, machining, assembly and testing of each package.
