Zeta North, Central & South
The courses aim to train RPAS users to operate aircraft proficiently, and understand regulations and procedures to safely and effectively meet their requirements and those of the UK CAA. Successful course completion will result in an A2 Certificate of Competency (A2 CofC) and a General Visual Line of Sight Certificate (GVC).
All candidates will be expected to complete pre-course learning through EEI’s e-learning platform, followed by classroom-based instructor led theory which culminates in a written examination.
Modules include:
• Introduction to RPAS
• Air Law Responsibilities
• RPAS Operating Principles
• Airmanship & Aviation Safety
• Human Performance
• Meteorology
• Navigation & Charts
• RPAS General Knowledge
• Operator Responsibilities
• Operating Procedures
By successfully completing our course theory phase, candidates can progress to the flying phase of training. The flying element teaches the candidates how to operate the aircraft safely and competently.
Module includes:
-
Air Handling
-
Mission Elements
-
Emergency Prodecures
-
Flight assessment
Once the instructors are satisfied that the candidates are demonstrating an appropriate level of competency, they will conduct an evaluated flight assessment. Candidates will perform the following assessed tasks in planning (including risk assessment), briefing, aircrew discipline, safety, airmanship, and general handling, including emergency procedures.
On completing the assessment, the candidates demonstrate a competency level required to operate safely within the Specific Category.
This, along with an EEI-ratified Operation Manual, candidates will be awarded their GVC, which will enable them to apply to the CAA for an Operational Authorisation to fly their RPAS within UK airspace.
