Knight Optical offers stock and custom Zinc Selenide (ZnSe) and Zinc Sulphide (ZnS) windows that are ideal for applications such as thermal imaging, FLIR, and CO2 lasers. 

Zinc Selenide is a crystalline material with a high purity with minimal loss from absorption and scattering. 

Zinc Sulphide is available in two different grades; multispectral and FLIR. Multispectral grade offers minimal scatterin g and low absorption in the borad 0.35-12µm transmission range. The FLIR grade is designed for infrared wavelengths, especially 8-12µm LWIR thermal waveband. 

Our stock Zinc Selenide windows are available in 7mm to 70mm diameters, with an option for an AR coating on both surfaces working at 10.6µm. Zinc Sulphide windows are available in 9.5mm to 25.4mm diameters.

Custom Zinc Selenide and Zinc Sulphide are avaiable in dimensions of 100mm or more, and can be coated with an antireflective coating to optimise the performance in specific wavebands or at a particular wavelength, such as 10.6µm. 

All ZnSe and ZnS windows are tested in our metrology and QA departments before leaving our premises to ensure conformity to their individual specifications.
